Greed, Power & a handful of Sell Outs.
That seems to be the ingredients lately. What does it look like to not live in a world of greed & power? I guess maybe a boring one with no major advancements? Or wait, advancements WITHOUT sell outs who act on their jealousy.
Its been a lovely (no sarcasm at all) cluster of reflections, rebuke & recognition this week. However one word sticks out to me more than the others: GREED.
I have been reading the book of Joshua and some where in my week God managed to mesh in the book of Daniel & the book of Nehemiah. If you really think about it- its pretty darn intense, pretty much in alignment with my week. I realize time and time again, although I question if I got it effectively the 1st time around with the Lord, how bold and uncompromising your faith has to be when in the fire.
What does it mean to be in the fire? I assume spirtually-any predicament that could make or break your integrity and witness. This week was trying for me- transitions, greed, misuse of power -and when I say misuse I more so mean how you could have used your power to help the weak- but no.
As we discussed in my bible study this week…I know only of one Source who can step in:
Psalm 121:1-3
I look up to the mountains—where does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
