Lately, I have been just really thinking about the combination of passion, calling and urgency and I started reflecting on this one dope story in the bible….and I came to the conclusion: I plan on making a hole through the roof for my friends.
Some people went to hear Jesus speak and as the room filled up, they couldn’t get into the room so some managed to climb the roof, make a hole and bring their friend down into the room-straight through the roof. Just to hear him speak—-cause it’s just that powerful.
Recently, a person contacted me. Never have I had such a real talk with them and never have I ever thought they would ever reach out. I heard the desperation in their voice, I heard the heaviness of life in their tone, and I sensed that it had been a while since they had felt hope and peace. I remember thinking…wow, God how can I help? I know He has tasked me, that I can accept, but HOW do I begin to be used for this person in a severe time of need?
My answer came to me: consistency and love.
The saying goes: If you have not love, you have nothing at all.
What better of a time to show this person both….consistency and love. I think it caught them off guard that I was so receptive, so loving and so simple in my offerings…I recall thinking of this story and realizing that, no matter the timing, situation or the person….I want to be the friend that no matter when you called for me…I would be the one to bring you to that study….and if the doors were shut and the room was filled, I would be the one who would climb a roof and make a hole for you …just for you to hear the Word. Just for you to receive delivery, healing, love and peace.
At the end of the day, I am humbled at how wonderful He has been to me.
